Now that Apropos (the ‘s’ is silent – by the way!) have their structural glazing products on display at The Building Centre Brendan Day, Senior Design Consultant for Apropos, visited the Centre yesterday to take the Information Team through the whole Apropos design process from conception to completion. Their turn key services produce stunning, bespoke glass extensions for prestigious homes throughout the UK.
Glass extensions as opposed to conservatories have to meet Building Regulations approval. Apropos take care of this by out sourcing the service through a nationwide network of reputable contacts built-up over the years.
Brendan told our team about Apropos’s own aluminiun powder coating factory and the eight RAL colours that the profiles are available in. Samples of the different finishes will be added to their display shortly.
Apropos’s glazing systems achieve excellent thermal performance. This is attributed to polyamide thermal barriers, warm-edge aluminium spacing bars, machine filled argon double glazed units and air-tight bottom seals.
Brendan demonstrated the features of the mono pitched structure including the manual and the electrically operated, remote controlled rooflights. We were told that water collection calculations are made to ensure that a more than adequate sized box gutter and correct diameter downpipe is installed to cope with the heaviest of downpours.
The presentation was invaluable in enriching the Information Team’s product knowledge and we look forward to being able to help clients that visit the Apropos display in the coming months.
