We are very excited to launch our new App today, developed with our friends at Woobius, the specialist Mobile App developer for the Built Environment. With information on topical exhibitions, video footage from industry leaders and access to specifinder.com, the product directory for the built environment, The Building Centre App offers a wealth of industry knowledge straight from your pocket.
The free app is easy to use and relevant for industry professionals, students and those interested in architecture, engineering, planning, design and construction. specifinder.com has been built-into The Building Centre App, making it the first building product directory to utilise app technology . Specifiers working on projects large and small can now easily look up suitable building products via a thoroughly modern and user-friendly platform with access to over 10,000 product listings on the go – be that on-site, on the move or at home.
Users of the new app will have access to information unavailable elsewhere. Once The Building Centre App is downloaded onto an iPhone or iPad, users are able to take advantage of a network of micro apps within the main site. These are regularly updated and contain detailed information on past exhibitions and events such as ‘London Yields’, ‘Spans’ and ‘Adaptive Architecture’. For visitors who request further information following our events and seminars, we can offer a breakdown of the event in an accessible format. For those unable to attend an event or exhibition, the app gives users a taste of what The Building Centre has to offer.
Our app is being launched on the same year we celebrate The Building Centre’s 80thanniversary and by embracing new technology and delivering a contemporary programme of events and services The Building Centre can confidently look forward to another 80 years to come.
Available through the Apple Store, The Building Centre App is suitable for the iPhone, iPod Touch and iPad, but will be adapted to fit other platforms including Android later in 2012.
